Blade - which way is 1st and 2nd etc.

Got my paddles on and not being a bike person, which way is 1st and then all the other gears?

When I pull the left hand side of the paddles, the spline on the engine rotates anti clockwise and vice versa.

Thanks,

Pat...

P.S. Me and Indykid both managed a stall and a drive out of the garage - 1st time under it's own steam.

Should be clockwise for 1st then anti clockwise for everything else. Pictur the gears like a hand with neutral being inbetween the thumb and fingers.Down with the pedal (that ain't there now!) then up for the rest

put it in neutral pat and rock the car put it in first then try that way again it should be rock solid

when you try the other way you should be able to go through a couple of gears

If you'd taken it a bit further than just out of the garage, you would have been converted.

It'll depend on which blade engine you have.
The 919cc works opposite to the 893cc due to being operated by rear-set linkages on the original bike rather than a direct gear lever.
Viewing the splined selector shaft end on,
my 893cc is (from neutral position) clockwise for 1st then anti-clockwise for 2nd gear upwards.
Hence the 919cc will be opposite to this.

Andy.

Anti clockwise to go down the box into 1st if I remember the linkage I had correctly, which tallies with Andrew's observations above considering its a 919 engine.
