hello all again, after finally getting some time off from work family and settling into the new house i got a brief but spirited ride out with kevin in his mk indy blade with his friend with a locost r1 turbo (sorry forgot his name with all the excitment). anyway im off to mk on friday am and MNR in the PM.. before i go can you guys impart some of your wisdom on me. what should i ask,what do i need to know ??????? thanks alan
if it was me i'd be asking them:
"do you take IOU's as a form of payment?"
All you need to know when you go to MNR is who to give your wedge to
On a more serious note you need to know exactly what is included in what ever kit you decide on and what you are going to need to finish the build.
Ask about SVA and what is needed to get it through. If you have any requiremants of your own you need to know if these can be accomodated, either as
standard or a mod.
Can't think of anything else at the moment. Hope that helps.

Also ask to see the build manuals you get with the kits and get a good idea of what you need to finish a build in it's entirety.
Also, get to know the guys at both places and decide who you'd rather deal with the most - you'll end up going back several times over, so
it's best if you can get on with them!
I bought an MK, but have started using MNR for parts (geographical as much as anything else, but the quality of the parts is fantastic)

theres no doubt MNR's quality is top you only have to look at the body panels and joins

to be honest the indyblade was much faster than i thought it would be. i know how much the performance suffers when i was two up on the bike so i
thought the weight of the car would kill it. we went on a route im familiar with and it went round a corner at 90 ish that my mondeo will squeel its
tyres at 60. it was the most fun ive had since i last had a go on the missus

See the bare chassis at both places and be amazed at the work of art that is the MNR......
Thats what finalized it for me.
And, compare the kit prices
But remember the MK will probably work out cheaper, but be not quite as nice.
If you've a choice beteen those two, I think it will all come down to budget.
MNR if you can afford it!
MK if you can't afford an MNR.

As per StevieB, I have started using MNR parts instead of MK due to location.
I now wish I had started with an MNR in the first place! No disrespect to MK, but the chassis and body panels are something else, really good.
I would go MNR
Personally, I think the styling of the two cars is also a major influence...............

Your doing the right thing going to see both MNR and Mk as said before its mainly down to your budget,
See if you can get a ride in both although you've already been in my brothers Mk it wouldn't hurt if you could get a ride in the
supercharged Gixer Mk
My main advice would be go have a look talk prices with both then go home and think about it!
You know which one me and Kev would go for if we were building again Good Luck

Hi There is a massive difference between the diferent manufacturers cars when driven.
Its small thing that you just wouldent get by sitting in the passenger seat or whilst sat stationary that can make the big difference's.
I doubt any one would go and spend 6-7k on a tintop whithout going for a test drive first .

ahh thats it ...DAVE now i remember, nice car by the way looked even better when you blew by us when kev missed a gear. yes mnr have a busa powered demo that they will take me out in and mk said they will take me out in the gixxer charger indy.So is there that much in the price between them both looks like only £300 ish before any deals mk 2625 mnr 2995
go to both and take note of the quality of the two chassis and body
plus what I mentioned in one of the first replies to this post about the MNR discount

UPDATE. hay everyone, i had a good day out yesterday,the thing is im still unsure which way to go.the MNR chassis is very good lots of triangles
loads of strenth,expertly welded and designed. the mk was a little more basic and low-tech but still very well put together with good neat welds.
bodywork was good at both MK and MNR but MNRs body had a better quality feel and fit. overall the vortx looks the better car, to me that is but at a
slight premium in the cash department.....but MK are more local if i need to pick stuff up. above all i got on with the guys at MNR a little better
than MK even though both were very busy at the time finishing cars.
so im still unsure!!! HELP!
MNR were always happy to put stuff in the post for me. I wouldn't let location put you off.
First up, I'm building a Fury and don't have any axe to grind as to which is better, MNR or MK.
From what you've posted;
MK - good chassis, good bodywork, nice guys.
MNR - better chassis, better bodywork, nicer guys.
At the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Have to agree with adithorp.
Only you know if you CAN stretch to the higher spec kit. It seems simple to me:
If you CAN then get the best you can.
If you CAN'T then you still have a great product.
Whichever one you ultimately choose, you'll not be disappointed. (providing you fit a bike engine)
I guess it really depends on your budget ......

looks like i have made my choice drum roll please ...........MK 90% based on budget and 10% based on the fact that mnr did not respond to my E-mails during the last 7 days. anyway if my car is half as good as kevs il be happy
That's unusual. MNR usually respond to my emails the next day. Why didn't you just phone?
Anyway, I'm sure you'll love your car. Good luck with the build.

That is very odd. All I can say is that the emails never arrived at MNR. I have had excellent communication with Chris and Mark all the time both
email and phone, same day response to email and phoned back on the same day after messages left.

i sent 3 emails but i only got 1 auto responce and 1 reply with some nice but wierd chinese style symbols. anyway it could be my end,after all im with sky. back on topic the mk ,i hope will do me fine for my fist kit that said i still would prefer another bike...but sadly lost 3 friends in 12 months in 1 fault 2 non fault accidents
I can vouch for MNR email system. Rarely I don't receive the reply in the same day (being in another country and not speaking english correctly
makes email easier than phone).

did you go for any demo rides
yeah went in a mk with a gixxer 1000 motor for a spin and loved it shame they were fixing the one with the charger
