Kawasaki RX 1000

Ive been offered a RX1000 complete bike
to remove the engine and all items needed for it to run. Only not sure on its
rateing for a kit car, its done 20,000 but i
dont know its age but looks like it may be
of the age pre cat. Looking for a little guidence.

Vey old bike now The ZZR1100 came out in about 1990, and was preceded by the ZX10.

The GPZ 1000RX preceded that

I'd reckon on at least 125bhp, and (given it's a Kwak) solid reliability (assuming it's had done what was needed).

As for car fitting, you might be wise to check that sump doesn't need modifying etc.

At least you won't have too many emmissions problems for SVA!

Going by the link in Simons reply, I reckon you're far better off sticking with the blade instead of replacing it with the 1000RX.

Thats what I had in my Indy first time, An oldie but I think a goodie, same bottom end as the later engines, good pwer and the carbs sit horizontal to the head so no top clearance probs,

Hi the 1000rx is a big old heavy lump id stick with the blade

was just looking for a stand by engine
and this was offered to me but i think will
give this one a miss.
