Hi, can anyone help me, i am trying to wire up a hayabusa in my car i have the loom but i think the air flow and atmospheric sensor are missing?? the relay for fuel pump wont work?? and i need to know what type of fuel pump is needed?? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated, thanks gerry
The busa is injection, so you need an injection pump from somewhere, it doesn't really matter where. I didn't think busa had an airflow meter, just a MAP sensor? I could well be wrong on that though. How do you know the relay doesn't work? Is everything wired up to allow the ecu to fire the relay, or have you tried it off the car?
Hi diy si, have put power to fire system up but no power coming out of relay to pump and is map sensor the one screwed into air box, looks like a temp sensor?
The sensor screwed into the airbox is a temp sensor.
Do i need to keep that temp sensor in?
YES!!! The ecu reads from this. There should be other sensors too:-
Air temp, in air box
Atmos. pressure
Vacuum, read from all four throttle bodies
and all of these need to be kept
If i fit a diff air filter how do you inc the air temp and press thing, and i must have a bit missing cos all the vac outlets on top of bodies is disconected? thanks for help by the way. gerry
if youve got a different filter, then drill a hole in the base plate and bolt the sensor through it!
I think you're best taking the engine to a specialised centre. Also, I would seriously doubt that a busa would have an AFM!!! Those are very restrictive, most probably its a TPS, corrected with the map sensor.
Who said anything about an AFM??
Hi all and thanks for replies, i bought this kit part finished and having studied the shop manual further have discovered there are several sensors
missing, such as air press. sensor ect. I am going to leave it now for a week as i am going away on biking trip to prague today with the lads, will
post update when we get back.
gerry
Sierra injection pump will work fine, you will need a regulator to bring fuel pressure to 43psi. Use a filter after the pump.
Fuel rail works better with a fuel return fitted.
The fuel pump relay will not run the pump without a resistor in the ignition circuit - this is an anti theft device to prevent the bike being
hotwired. This was on the earlier bikes anway....I think the resistor is a 100K ohms or something.
Hi all, back now safe and sound, great trip , Have now spoken to Malc from yorkshire engines and he is sorcing my missing parts, thanks for the advise, have got fuel pump and reg sorted, hopefully when i get parts from malc all will be well, i hope!!
Let us know how ya get on!
getting somewhere at last, sent full loom and ecu to track electronics and they have tested loom, found to be ok but ecu has gone down.. John at track electronics is getting me an ecu and i should have it all back this week, hopefully running at weekend yippee. I have to say a greatful thanks to malc at yorkshire engines for supplying missing sensors and all his help and advise, many thanks Malc.
