Fireblade Fuel Pump
SyKaTurbo - 11/10/07 at 12:11 PM

Its for a 94 blade. I know they use a low pressure pump but is one of the solid state units at the top of "THIS" The engine i'm getting doesnt have the pump with it and I can get one of these units pretty cheap.

Just get the Blade fuel pump, you will save yourself LOTS of hassle.........

The engine is coming out of a megablade and the chap is keeping the pump so either buy new honda, second hand honda or new other brand.

Any reason why it would cause hassle using the Facet one?

Hi there

I've got spare mitsibushi pump of a ZX9R that should be OK for a carbed fireblade.

£20 in postage, U2U if interested.

Cheers

Ian

Yep, the Facet pumps are not self regulating / pressure sensing, so they just pump away regardless and you need a regulator with them which can strangle flowrate with the low pressure required with BEC carbs.

Facets have been used and they work for some people, but when there's something that does it better (a self regulating bike pump) for similar money then there's not a lot of point risking it IMHO.

a new fuel pump from honda for a 94 blade would cost you £158.00

I fitted CBR600 carbs to my Zetec, the car had the same Facet pump. Petrol pished out of the carbs when it was running. Replaced it with a CBR600 pump[1] and it was (as you'd expect) perfect.

[1] Search on ebay for a whole bike breaking, you can usually get stuff for a better price when haggling, cos you don't need to go through ebay.

I,ve got the POSI-Flow pump (60104) on my 893 blade with no issues.

Take a note of the fuel pressures, the red top facets etc are much higher.

It shuts down when up to pressure etc.

Regards Mark
