doing the plumbing on the R1 carb model and I've spotted what might be a mistake on my part when I mounted the engine,
I've made the cradle so as the sump joint face is parallel to the ground is this correct or should I have made the cradle so as the bottom of the
sump is parallel to the ground, meaning the engine should lean forward more
Many Thanks
tony
My sump base is level, if that helps. I just hope mine is right!
I'm not sure how Mk mount the R1, but when I mounted my engine I looked at a mates bike and mounted it the same Sump parallel to the ground!
Probably not what you wanted to here!
Dave.............
I would use the oil level sight glass as a gauge to the correct level/angle of the engine. the markings for high and low level should be parallel to the floor

aahh bug-er
was a good theory though
How about checking the 'Yamaha' on the clutch cover, see
here. You can also just see the joint in that pic and it
does not look parallel to me
