Hi Folks,

What is the general oppinion on the VTR 1000 Firestorm for Kit car installations?

I've not heard of it being used, possibly due to installation difficulties as its a v-twin? would be torquey, but not as powerful as some other popular bec engines...

Stuart Taylor have put them in a couple of Pheonixs etc, but the main problem in a Locost (or an Seven type car) is that one cylinder needs to stick out the side of the chassis in order for the output shaft to line up with the tunnel and to have the engine sitting flat (its not an upright V, more of a l if u see what I mean!)

i have one sitting my shed waiting for its new home, my car will be mid engined tho so it doesnt realy apply. allthough i have a side section (rough) drawn up in cad, and have rons book so if you are interested ill draw the locost front end into cad and see how it fits.

Cheers Russ,

am just at the contemplating stage at the moment, lloking at what engines i can get for what money really, i dont run a Locost its a Formula 27 and i suspect the Dims would be different,
