BEC rad

I must be overlooking something - but why don't BEC engined cars use bike radiators? Surely they are light, can handle the cooling demands of the engine - just need a 'lecy fan.

Some do. But for £35 for a Polo rad ?

Some bike rads are two piece, some are curved, some are damaged from the crash (majority source of engines) so the Polo / Micra is an easier option most of the time.

The airflow around the engine is also somewhat different in a car. On a bike, it is more exposed and therefore heat from the engine can dissipate more easily than when it's enclosed in fibreglass.

Like Fesycresy says, some people do use bike rads but IMO they are on the limit of their coolling capability in a car.

Micra/Polo rads are a light/simple/cheap alternative to enhance cooling.
