Can anyone offer any suggestions as to why my clutch doesn't seem to be releasing on a ZX9 C1 engine. As soon as I put it into 1st it'll
stall unless I give it some gas in which case it'll just start off moving. Its like the clutch isn't releasing. I've had the discs out
and soaked them overnight and still no joy. The actuating arm almost touches the cable mount when I press the pedal so the cable must be mounted
right. Any suggestions would be great as I'm pulling my already fading hair out trying to think this out.
wrong thickness of friction disks? did you measure them or the stacked thickness against the manual?
Is there a clutch pushrod sitting in the garage?
Is the clutch very light?
If so sounds like the inner cam part it not engaged. Or the thrust bearing is missing.
Also check the assembly order or the clutch stack.
Turns out to be a couple of things. The actuating arm not engaging properly and the arm is hitting the cable adjuster.Just that few more mm that I've moved it seems to have worked.Hurray, one done possibly head gasket next!
