fuel pumps
Ben 4x4 Shepperd - 30/10/03 at 06:41 PM

Ok so after looking through some of your photos I am unsure weather to put the fuel pump at the back near the tank or at the front. At the moment I am probably going to mount it in the engine bay as this will give a single smooth pipe from the tank to the engine bay and all the coplicated bits will in one place and easier to wire.
Any thoughts???
Cheers
Ben

Ben

Pumps always work better pushing rather than sucking.

It should still work but you have more chance of problems with air locks.

Very easy to put at the rear - just mount it to the upright that runs down the side of the tank near the sender and give it an ignition switched live, no harder than mounting near the front.

BTW - buy yourself a spare fuel pump (£40)- I had one go at a track day which nearly ruined my day - but for a very local bike breakers who had one.

Seems like I've designed myself a bucket-full of trouble then...

Seems fine - what's the problem?? As long as you can get at it to change it.
