Underslung exhaust.

I have a rather nice stainless exhaust manifold for my ZX10 motor.
Unfortunately, it's for a bike and goes under the engine like they all do.

Now, on the basis that my car is not a Locost and that the chassis is quite different in terms of width, can anyone suggest reasons for not using this.

The first modern era BEC I ever remember seeing was Pat Jackson's F27 with a fireblade engine and that used the bike headers with the exhaust coming out the driver's side. Every bike engined F27 I have ever seen since has been the same.

I also seem to remember dear departed CalvinX had the same on his GTS, but his pics are all gone, so no joy there.

So, apart from height issues, any other thoughts ?

The headers I have fit flush with the high part of the sump and are no lower than the lowest part of the sump - the standard sump. I do have a GPZ900R sump if this is not feasible.

Anyway, thoughts please. I'm off out to see Dave1888s car running on the track for the first time

I personally would go for getting your engine as low as possible in your chassis and do away with the bike manifold.
Martin at MK engineering made me a 4 branch for my R1 for £240 delivered.
I have put the original on ebay, although I haven't found a buyer for it yet.

I think "bigrich" has reused his bike headers on his zx10r,running it down his transmission tunnel,and out of his rear panel,looks cool,there's a few pictures in his archive.
