When i first fitted/tested the fuel system the bike fuel pump filled the filter up fine and filled the carbs up ok, then the pump slowed down and stopped like the should do when they are up to pressure. Started the car and it runs ok. Then after a few startings i noticed the filter wasnt filling up very well and the pump kept going but there was still enough fuel for the car to run in the pipe but i didnt leave it running long enough to suck all the fuel out.
After reading a few threads about fitting the fuel pumps lower than the pickup in the tank, i changed the location of the pump to bellow the tank ie like the bike would have but it still doesnt seem to be pumping right. Could it be :
1. Air lock in the fuel system?
2. Could be blocked but checked when relocating.
3. faulty pump

I have checked the pipes are the right way around ie inlet/outlet.

Oh yeh its a ZX9 fuel pump.

Which side of the pump is the filter on? should be on the tank side, thats how its laid out on the bike, if not you may have got crap in the pump.

How is your tank breather?
If your tank cannot breathe in and out, then it could be getting pressurised or a vacuum.

Sounds like some crap could have got into the pump while the filter was after it causing the problems.

I had a similar problem and the new pump solved it (blade though) and in fact I carry a spare one with me now to track days etc just in case

Why not leave the engine running and see if it cuts out? You might not actually have a problem.
