started chopping my sump this weekend ready for welding in the week, can any one see any issues with it.

yeah, that plate in the middle looks like it might need some holes in it

The idea is to weld the three parts together then cut out the center for the oil pick up nibs inside the bottom section and for the drain plug.

Just weld a few small blocks of ali inside the flat base and put the drain plug in the side, much simpler than what you're trying to do there and it actually gains you some ground clearance.

This is one my uncle did, he's done about 20 the same as this and never had any problems.

I asked him last weekend, its not that he doesn't want to do them, its that he no longer has the facilities to do them.

In his old job he could do his own stuff outside of work hours whenever he liked, and he often went in at the weekend etc to do sumps as and when he had time. In his new place though they're not keen on people working outside hours doing their own stiff, having had previous employees making (and then selling) parts that competed with the company's own products!
