wiring loom

I've installed a Kawasaki ZZR1400 engine in my Indy, and i've got to the stage of installing loom.
Plugged all connectors that's on engine and theres a hell of a lot of plugs/wiring spare.
The question:- is it worth the hassle of preening back loom or is it going cause problems or....a purchase a custom built loom by Track Electronics.
The car has already had a blade engine and all wiring for a Digidash, so no connections needed for bike clocks etc.
Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Personally, I'd go through it methodically and take out all the crap that's not needed and alter the lengths accordingly. The devil is in the detail

Theres that many sensors and connectors to bypass and i'm worried i might balls it all up by cutting bits off i need!
Wires that go to imobilisers are sensitive to being played around with?
I've got a disc with wiring diagrams but
i just want to get it on the road!!!

im in the same boat i have a dta e48exp and zx12r wireing harness with zx12r clocks i was told to strip all ecu stuff out and make new for the dta im not looking forward to this

ive just trimmed down the loom on my 5vy R1. i removed all the lighting, and relays. It was quite easy with the wiring diagram in the R1 Manual i downloaded

I stripped out my R1 loom. I got it running with the complete loom then took out a couple of circuits and re-started the engine, then a couple more circuits and restarted. Kept doing that untill it was done. That way if I cocked up there was only a couple of things it could be.

Spend some time getting your head around the diagram before you start.

The way I approached it was that slicing the original bike wiring into the car wiring was the only way to go. The two looms are pretty similar in most areas.

There is not that much wiring to strip out to be honest - only lengths to adjust. The engine wiring is the same - ancillaries are different as is the ignition circuit.

All you need to do is add bits that the bike doesn't have, Hazards, Fog etc. No big deal... this was without doubt the hardest part of the build - but as I did it alone it allowed me to approach things very logically. Make every circuit, test it then move on.

Good luck - you will no doubt have a few sleepless nights over this (I know I did) but dont lose heart, just do little but often.
