I have changed the x flow lump for a zx10 in my locost,I have just got round to suspension set up,I was trying to get the ride height down to 110mm front but cannot get down below 150mm,I assume this is because the springs are now no good,I have had a look at rally design there seems to be a few selections,i.e 8",10" and 12",Is it a case of remove the existing spring and get 2 the same lenght around the 200lb mark,It also mentions 1.9" and 2" for different types of spring,Is this the internal diameter ??

The 1.9" etc dimension is the reference to the diameter of the inside of the spring.

I think it could be a mistake to order the same lenght springs also, as I would guess that the reason you are not able to get down to the height is more to do with the spring length than it is to do with the poundage.

Having said that, it's all just my opinion and could be very wrong

Last year I did this on my car as I couldn't wind down the ride height far enough due to the length of the springs. So I ordered two shorter ones expecting a bit of trial and error but as luck would have it they were a perfect fit

what lenght did you go for,any idea what poundage of spring you bought.

I was just out for a look at mine,The Lenght of the shock is 12"and the spring on it appears to measure 8",I aaume when I let the tension of the spring this will likely be a 10 " spring,I'm still unsure how I will know if I need a 1.9" spring or 2" !!!

I got some 8" springs, 250lbs. 10" springs were removed. I measured mine to check which I needed, 1.9 vs. 2.25" is easy to check. Once someone had told me it was the inside diameter to measure...

measure the inside diameter of the spring.

it'll either be 1.9" or 2.25"

it's more to do with the spring platforms you have than the damper body itself.

also, how much adjustment do you have in the lower spring platform? that may be a determinant in what length springs to get.
