the Power Commander 3 connects via USB. you need a USB to Micro USb cable. I got one in the box when i bought mine.
They are just generic cables that are used for lots of things like cameras, memory card readers, mobile phones etc
oh i need to try and find a cable then mine was off a bike could have been the one my engine came out of
thank you
just googled USB to Micro USb cable and mine isnt like that it has a connection similar to this

You can download the power commander program from here
thanks just read that on powercommader site but i dont know which one to down load
and even if i did i still dont know whic cable i need to connect laptop to pc3
give me an engine to rebuild any day but not these electrical jobbies as they get me all confused
download the control centre software.
I am waiting for mine to turn up so not sure which USB cable it is, post a pic of the USB socket so we can see.
You're probably wanting something more like these

Here you go second cable from bottom

cheers stuart_g
ill prob need top cable
thanking you
yes that is correct. that looks like a normal 9pin to 9pin serial lead that can be had from anywhere very cheaply.
thank you
you seem to understand all this stuff so i may well be in touch if thats ok
thanks again

oooh it is indeed a serial connection. i thought all the PC3 were USB, and the older ones were serial.
Only problem with using serial cables these days is that most laptops dont have them anymore, so you may need to find yourself an older laptop if your
going to try tweaking it yourself.
You can get Serial to USB converters, but ive never had much luck gettting my devices to work properly on one
doh never mind i guess i will have to wait and see
would be nice to find out what map is already on my pc3
once again thanks folks
