R1 Propshaft and Fuel Pump

Ive just bought a part built stuart taylor with an R1 engine. There are a few things needed to finish it off , such as prop and fuel pump.

What is the best fuel pump for this engine? Will I need a swirl pot? I have looked on the stuart taylor website but they do not seem to do a propshaft for the escort rear, does anyone know another company that do sell one?

Which R1 engine do you have, carbed or fuel injection as that will obviously determine which fuel pump is suitable?

As to the prop, propshafts.co.uk or Bailey Morris would be able to make you one to measure, being a live axle you'll need one with a slider in the rear section to accomodate the movement of the axle, and whilst you're at it you'd be best off getting one with a TRT as well, to help reduce the amount of shock that gets transmitted back up to the gearbox and to smooth things out a little.

Its a carbed engine, 2000.

I will contact them for a price on the propshaft. Is one company better than the other?

Both are pretty good, the former generally cheaper (they used to be anyway)

As for fuel pump, anything from a 1000cc+ carbed bike engine will do, they're generally the same pump used on lots of different bikes anyway.
