fan switch

Is it worth fitting a fan switch even though the fan is controlled by a temperature sensor, looking round a few bec car dashes I see a few people have them.

It really just a bit of a safety net. If you are stuck in traffic, you can switch it on before the engine temp needs it, giving you a bit of extra piece of mind. It isn't difficult to fit, so I would.

I didn't fit one and the rad copes but the R1 ecu switches the fan on and off at pretty high temp (100+). At fro SVAI had trouble controling emmisions untill Iran the fan constant.

Untill I have the dash out (when I'll fit a switch) I've run a wire from the fan positive feed to a cig lighter plug. I just plug this in to the auxilary sockets to run the fan.

Wish I'd put a switch in to start with.
