As the title says, ive got a 2003 R1 engine with clocks, the clocks are in KPH and i would like to change to MPH, can this be done by just perssing the buttons on the clocks?

Speedohealer will do it.

thought about that Derek, but will it get the KPH illumination off the digital dash?

I get you now.

thats ok, bloody anoying though, wonder if a new set of clocks would do the trick

Apparently, on some models you can press and hold the select button for a few secs to swap between mph and kph. Try it and see.

I can't see anything in the service manual.

Actually, the service manual says this:

For the U.K. only: To switch the speedometer display between kilometers and miles, press the “SELECT” button and “RESET” button together for at least two seconds.

tried the reset ans select, nothing, but i did however change when my shift light flashes, lol, now at 10.5k.
went into loads of other things but turned ign off got scared .
Is there a manual i can download from somewhere

If the clocks are Euro spec (as opposed to UK spec) then the only way is to open the back up and solder across one of the joints on the PCB.

The problem is knowing which one. I bottled out and sent my clocks off to Scorpio electronics who relieved me of £60 for the pleasure. They also reset my odometer to zero. They have done two sets of clocks and service is very quick (48hr turn round)

do you have a contact number, my clocks have 0 miles though, engine is a spanker

You can download the manual here

Don't try to print it without checking you've got lots of paper and ink though; It's BIG. Guess how I know!

Thanks Adrian, Derek sent me a link before, not printed anything off yet though.
Hope all my messing about has not upset anything.

Just as a note: for SVA, your speedo needs to have an illuminated MPH sign, so putting a white decal over won't do. (it's something all of us oversea BECers need to take into consideration).

I'll lend you my clocks for SVA. If I still have them in 2010

I think Mark Tsang (the proprietor) tried to charge me more but I said that he charged me £60 last time (which he did when I built my old R1 Phoenix) and he said fair enough.

Cheers
