earthing rear lights

hi there
im in the middle of extending the loom on my fireblade engine for my mk
and just about to do rear lights do i need to earth them at the rear of the chassis or use the earth wire that is allready on the loom to the rear lights?

Shouldn't matter which you use as long as there's an earth.

Nothing to stop you running the loom earth out to the rear of your car and putting an earth pillar in too - that way you have a double fail safe (working on the basis that electrical failures are probably the most common fault, and that it's probably going to be a bad earth)

Thats exactly why I have maintained the -ve cables and run them to all the components that need direct -ve. Chassis, engine and fuel tank are connected as well just as belt and braces.
