You will have the same minor headache making it all connect up as I did.
The bottom of the expansion tank ideally wants to tee into the bottom hose. You could make a reducing T/elbow like you did for mine and use any size
outlet on the tank you like. The top of the tank wants to be 8mm ID, assuming you intend to gather the various small hoses together (top of
thermostat, couple from the block and the small outlet from the top of the rad) and have them terminate there. They are all 8mm ID hose.
I am by no means expert on any of this (or anything). I just followed the advice I was given at the time and it's working great. Regurgitating it
here in case it helps

That's the job. I found there was another 8mm hose coming off the block which I tee'd into the top of the expansion bottle.
being lazy now, if ive got some 100mm dia tube and want a tank approx 1ltr, what would be the cutting length.
I think that 150mm long would give me about 1.2 lts of water, is this about right?.
Somebody should have paid more attention at school.

Car ran well both ways. Doesn't like "slow" though. Bit on the weak side but I'll soon sort that. I'll try and get round to
see you this week.
