Should the original airbox rubbers be used when fitting a pipercross foam air filter to a carbed R1 engine?

i did, just resealed them with silicone sealant. remember they fit the thottle boddies and have a nicely curved edge that acts like a ram pipe trumpet

I thought that was the case, unfortunately I havent got them so I'll have to get a set.
