hi all
well i just fitted my loan cat from MNR and fired up my busa BEC,
it runs like a bag of sh*t, i m getting fault codes up and the revs wander from 1k to 2k, it also cuts out some times,
the question is do i chance it putting it through is sva on the 28/7/08 with out the cat and turn the fueling down?
or
take a chance that i scrape through with it running rough with the cat fitted ?
i havent got time to get it mapped with the cat installed
what you reckon
it seems like everytime you solve one problem another one jumps up to bite you

im pretty sure u HAVE to have the cat fitted if your engine is post 1995
How interesting......Did it run with a cat on the bike?If so have you got a Lambda sensor fitted? Have you a power commander? whats the fault codes
its throwing up? Is it one of those twin cat things thats too restrictive?
let us know when you get it sorted.

Have you got the mode switch fitted on the loom? I don't think you can read the codes without this and all you get is the dreaded F1 light. Track
electronics should have either left the socket on the loom so you can get a mode switch from Suzuki or fitted a toggle switch for you.
Jason
thanks for the replys
yea the red white wire has been left in by track electornics its off the ECU with a female insulated bullet connected, but i thought this was the plug
for diagnostics equipment to be connected to ? i didnt realise that this needed to have a mode switch fitted to read the fault codes, i m sure i read
them before without the red white wire fault mode switched to earth, then i could be wrong
where can i get the propper mode switch from, suzuki ?
or in the mean time if i just connected an open ended wire into the bullet and earthed it would this be ok ?
as you can prob tell i m still learning about all the electronic side of things
thanks again
p.s im now having probz with speedo healer but thats a new post, lol
hi finlay send me a screen shot of the map you are running as i think thats the problem, it wont be the cat unless its blocked, you should just be
able to see daylight through the cat when looking through it
cheers
marc
infact email me i may have kept a copy of the map i ran at last sva, i dont normally keep them as i just do each one off the cuff but there may be a
chance i backed it up
cheers
marc
its ok panic over
fault is C92, which is faulty fuel level indicator
Mark
thanks for the offer but i have no idea of how to do that, i just got track electornics to load a basic map for my set up into the PC
it is running abit rough but it will have to do for now as i dont have the time to get it looked at before SVA on 28th
thanks again gents
It does definately sound like the map. I had the same thing happening to my R1 at SVA after altering the map to get the emissions right. The engine
didn't idle very well and kept cutting out when trying to accelerate.
The tester was trying to do the speedo test on the rolling road and it was coughing and spluttering and he was swearing away at it. I ended up loading
the standard map when he wasn't looking

SVA can be passed with a Cat, PAIRS and 27Psi fuel pressure. No power commander.
Richard
thats good advice. I'll try that tonight and see what the emmissions are.
thanks
