hi all
got the Busa MNR mapped a few days ago, made 177bhp on the crank and 146bhp on the wheels, i am plzed with results but i aint plzed with the oil leak
comming from the starter gear clutch casing, nothing a new gasket wont sort, i hope
i ve still got emission problems, this failed my SVA, C0 % was 5.02
, the dyno engineer managed to get that down to 2% but it is still over the
0.3% you are allowed
he suggest that i used a bigger CAT as the one i m using is 4.5" long by 3.5 wide
i have just ordered a new CAT that is 6" long and 4.5" wide so hopefully it should get me a pass second time round, might run both in
tandom
what do you guys think ?
cheers
forgot to mention that i m not running a PAIR system

What fuel pressure are you running ?
Try dropping to 28psi.
Is a 30BHP loss acceptable from the crank backwards? seems a hell of alot to me but there again I have nothing to compare it to
Have you got a reverse box?
Jason

no reverse box
i m running about 40 psi or 2.9 bar at idle
i havent tried manually cranking down the fuel pressure yet, but the dyno tech mapped it as low as possible before it started leaning out enough to
cause damage, i am hoping the sva tester will let me play about with the fueling at my resit, i am going to call him just to make sure its ok, the
dyno tech said he would come to sva to try some mapping onsite to try and get the emissions down
cheers

I may be wrong but you will probably need two maps. One for emissions and the other for the track.
my mates busa had the fuel pressure dropped manually when he arrived at sva. Then cranked it upafter he passed. Remeber 27 psi but may be wrong.

Hi Finlay
mine has black boxes on the cam cover which I think replace the pairs or might actually be the pairs device. Either way it's still connected.
I have been told that pairs will help the emissions.
Mine has a metal (not ceramic) cat of a 100 grade (whatever that means??) and once I figured out how my emissions tester worked I managed to get the
emissions down to below what the SVA man will accept by just adjusting the fueling with the PC and leaving the fuel pressure alone.

Hi Finlay,
Mine's not up and running yet but I have replaced the PAIRS with blanking plates. Marc tells me that he has got 'Busas through emissions
without PAIRS but with a Power Commander, and a cat of course. But I believe you will need two maps one with the cat for emissions. One without the
cat for power/torque delivery.
thanks for the replys
yea the PAIR system does help with emissions
i ve got my Power map running at the moment but the dyno tech has a emissions friendly map for me, he will also come with me to the SVA resit just
incase he needs to alter it, which was very nice of him to do so, so hopefully i will get through 2nd time
cheers
Good luck Finlay, were right behind you! Well.......maybe a few months behind you......, or so....
