Build Update
001Ben - 22/8/08 at 02:37 PM

Some of you will know that I bought a part built R1 stuart taylor (aries) a couple of months ago from eastbourne. I thought I would put pics on to show everyone the car now.

It was fired up for the first time on monday so everything seems to be fine with it. I am hoping to have the car "finished" within the next few weeks.

The nose cone is away being prepped and will hopefully be back soon so that the rest of the car can go together.

I bought capri rs alloys and have refurbbed them, they will be wrapped with toyo r888's by the end of next week.

Just all the small jobs to complete now.

I would also like to say a big thank you to Paul Swarbeck (Paul tigerb6) for all the help, much appreciated.

Thanks....

I should of put more pics of the front on for all of the CEC drivers out there. I mean they must be use to seeing the rear of most BEC's.

Actually we tend to see the fronts more when we stop to help you push them backwards

Nice car BTW

Nice looking car but I think you may be mistaken about the above quote

Now you've had some practice when are you going to come and help me? I've got some really cr*ppy, fiddly jobs to do.

Anytime Mr Q - Ben's car is only about 2 weeks off completion including spraying his nosecone which we have the kit to do. I'm getting pretty good at electrics now ( dont tell him about the brake warning light Ben..............)

If you want any help i'm more than happy to do what i can....

The rates of pay are cr*p (exchange rate on Stella has dropped considerably recently) and the working conditions are cramped and miserable but, if it's a genuine offer, then I could well take you up on it in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I may have a stripped out bike loom that will need marrying up with my ST loom by then. At work I will often take a clamp meter off one of the Electricians and shove it in a 415v control panel but this 12v stuff worries me for some reason (because it is mine I suppose!)
