hey guys
Need help...
I'm building a Busa locost with a live rear axle, where do I get the prop and sprocket adapter from??
How do you all mount the engine? Do you just sit it in place and make mounts? or is there a cradle available?
What angle does the engine sit at?
Can you use the busa airbox?
what modifications do you HAVE TO DO to the hayabusa?
Please help a very confusseddddddd person
Thanks
Jonah
for your prop adaptor there are a few suppliers - try http://www.sprocket-adaptors.co.uk/ - get the bolts too - its not an area you want to mess about
with in fitting incorrect spec bolts
As for the prop - there are a few suppliers - Dunning and Fairbank etc. Go for a prop with a Torque Resiliant Tube (TRT) as it takes the shock off
your drivetrain (so your gearbox will last longer!!)
Modifications you will need to do are primarily on preventing oil surge. With a Busa you will really want a dry sump or swinging pick-up sump fitting
(neither is cheap - but both cheaper than a new engine!! You will also need to alter the clutch to prevent it slipping - heavier duty springs with the
standard clutch plates are generally the way forward. Try a search and you will find loads of info here
Sounds like you have a lot to learn - but the info is all here and so plenty of reading to do. Dont rush into buying the first thing that comes up -
take your time and do the mods right 1st time.
Personally i'd say Pace dry sump and a Power Commander (to get the fueling sorted) set up by the likes of Holeshot or more likely TTS
(Silverstone!!) - not sure but recon they might be the closest rolling road to you with the proper facilities to set the car up. There are a few local
BEC owners in S Wales who i'm sure can advise better than me.

I get my chassis and full kit in about 4 weeks, you are welcome to come down and see how its fabricated and set up etc.
mac1 kit and zx10r engine etc.
I live in carmarthen
Thanks for the prop adapter lead, just ordered that and i'll speak to the prop people later.
Prehaps I should have explained that i've been building this for the last 12 months, it's currently a rolling chassis with the hayabusa sat
next to it waiting to be stripped down.
Just a little concerned about the angle that the engine needs to sit at and does the prop get made to fit the car or do I need the prop on to fit the
engine to?
Thanks
Marc
The engine goes in first and then the prop can be made to fit the exact requirements of your car. They will fit a centre bearing which gets fixed in
the tunnel (unless you are using a reverse box) and then put a slider in the rear section to allow for the axle movement.
This means they need a fair few measurements for the prop - best option is really to ring them and let them tell you exactly what they want but
basically they need the length and what size prop adaptor and axle input flange you are using.
As for engine position, generally the sprocket adaptor and axle flange need to be parallel to prevent vibrations, but each UJ needs to run with some
angle to prevent it wearing out more quickly. Have a look at the following thread for a better explanation
