I have a 3.62 LSD and it is fine for road use and shorter tracks. The top speed is 120 in 6th at the red line (98 carbed R1) with 195/50/15 tyres. Peak power is at 103 MPH in top so from about 105 MPH it really slows down. On a long straight it will top out at 120 so you're sat at max revs for a while.

A 3.38 would be better. 129 MPH top speed. Peak power at 110 MPH. Slightly lower revs on the motorway too. Slightly slower off the line though, but still fast.

If you're using an English axle as I think you are going to need the 3.54 diff. This is the longest ratio that is commonly available for the english axle.

Assuming you are live axle I totally agree with above.

I ran a rebuilt 3.54 open diff for 3 years with no problems the last year being turbo charged more than up to the job if in good condition!

I've now changed to dedion but only because I wanted LSD and the 3.38 ratio the higher ratio being the most important.

If your on a tight budget I my opinion a LSD isn't necessary.
