seems many have had a car pass SVA with only briaded flexi hose, but i assume they were all ok for MOT?
was in getting new tyres on the beemer today, and asked them about brake hoses, and they didn't seem to like the idea of flexi hoses used
throughout the braking system they said they'd look through the books and get back to me tomorrow, but should be ok though shouldn't it?
we have them for all brake pipeing on the mk2 escort and have no problems
i found this
http://www.motuk.com/mot_manual/index.asp
don't know if ALL the info is there, but it doesn't mention having to have ridgid pipes anywhere... sooo, do i just go and order more flexi
pipe then?
It will be fine for an MOT, put plenty of rally cars through with just the braided lines throughout

I think it is pretty standard to use internal braided fuel and brake lines on rally cars because the Blue Book says they must be protected. So you
should be okay IMHO

i think so too. it just worried me thata my MOT place said no...
i'm a tester and I'd say that as long as your brake efficiency's are ok and the pipes are secure I don't see a problem with it.
i told them 'i know plenty of people who have used them' and they said they'll check the book. i just wanted to make sure i wasn't
going mad and made it up :L
as far as i can tell, 'all ridgid pipes have to be properly secured' fine, i don't have any. 'Examine flexible hoses for signs of
weakness under pressure with foot-brake fully applied' and so if they happen to make up the whole of the system, then so be it!
will go back in tomorrow for their answer. i'm sure its a case of they've never come across it before, so they've never had to check

The atom has flexies throughout......
Flexies througout isn't really that clever an idea ---- a different matter on a single seater.
Arent some commercially available braided line kits marked as not suitable for road use?
i thought there was a slight issue with the hoses not being possible to be inspected if they are braided?? ie its not easy to see the rubber part.
Scootz opened a similar debate recently but commented that Ultima kits are supplied with braided lines throughout. Presumably they all pass MOT's
OK.
^ thats a pretty good point, any cracks in the pipe inside (i think mine are ptfe inside, not rubber) would be hidden by the stainless steel braid. but i'd guess fluid leaks would still be visible
