am looking to fix new brackets to my chassis (after ive cut the old ones off)
what have people done to set the lower wishbone to horizontalwhen fixing the upper shock mount (theres no adjustment) and set the rear ride
height??
all replies greatfully received
This is difficult as without being able to adjust your ride height, it will change depending on whether you or any one else is in the car.
I suggest that you set six inch blocks under the frame, (lower wishbones pointed slightly down from the inner pivots) load it up to the corner weights
that you expect when fully loaded and occupied. Install your uppers and have them pointing down from the pivots as you see fit and gives you the
desired camber and castor. Next put the shocks and place on the lower pivot and pry a large bar under your frame to lever the top of the shock down
until the body just starts to lift on that corner.
That shoud locate your upper shock mount......
Suggest also that if you cannot adjust your ride height with the shock spring that you add a couple of holes to the upper shock mount to raise or
lower the car..
Good luck!
