... for me to really admit that for the foreseeable future, just as the last few years have been, I will not have time to put together a Locost.
Because of this I guess that I really should sell everything I have so I can make some space and then hopefully sometime in the future start again.
Essentially what I have is a large portion of the parts to put something together, but not much of it has been put together yet. I started building a
chassis from scratch, original Ron Champion Locost dimensions as far as behind the seats but 2inch taller to accommodate a range of engines. I also
built a front suspension mounting for rocker arm suspension based on MK Indy suspension geometry. My plan was to put either a McSorley or Haynes
Roadster rear end for IRS on it, but I have only built it as far as the rear bulkhead. The chassis is only tack-welded so far.
In terms of parts I bought a good, running 2.0 DOHC Sierra so have all the mechanicals from that, along with alloy front hubs I bought from MNR to
replace the originals.
Other items I have (and there may be more but I can't remember and need to check) are;
MK Indy front wishbones, slightly used
MK Indy rear arches, slightly damaged but repairable
New front arches
Lolocost nosecone, unused
Pair of seats from a Bedford Rascall
Caterham roll cage
More complete rollcage with downbars and a diagonal
Windscreen from both a Caterham and an Avon Tiger
Caterham headlights
Ford Escort Mk2 steering rack
Lots of little bits and pieces.
I think I spent around £1000 in total for all these parts etc. and ideally would like to sell everything as a job lot to save time of individual
listings and despatch. If anyone is interested make me an offer, I'm not prepared to give it away but really need to have a clear out so make a
sensible offer based on the above items. Contact me by PM and I will keep an eye on this post.
OK, so it is another year later and my garage is still full of Locost parts so thought I should try again and see if anyone is interested. As before I
would ideally like to sell the whole lot in one go but am open to offers for any of the items I have so let me know. By my reckoning I have around 90%
of the parts needed to complete the car, certainly no major bits needed so it would be fittings and so on which would need to be purchased to get
everything - and I even have some of those.
Go on. you know it would make life easy to get the whole lot at once!
Just my opinion. I think the only/best way you will shift this stuff is to list it all separately on ebay. Maybe put some of it on here first but each
item with individual price tags.
The Ford DOHC wont be that popular. I got 40 quid on ebay for a low mileage one.

Is there a "performance" type tubular manifold to suit the DOHC engine?

Quick bump for this, I've had some enquiries for individual parts but before I start listing everything separately thought I would have another mention for a job lot!
