hi, ive started to rebuild my zetec and have found that there is no engine number on the engine. I thought while the engine is appart i could replace the bottom end with a new one that has the engine number visible.

So does anyone have a cheap pre 95 1.8 silvertop zetec bottom end that they are willing to sell and are local to me? engine number must be visible.

Can you get a number visiting a scrap yard or off another member off here with a scrap engine and then destroy the number on the scrap/knackered engine?? digital camera makes it easy to read numbers.

The stamp your engine with that number?

i did have a quick look at the scrap yard at the weekend but couldnt see an engine that i could "borrow" the number from (lots of post 95 engines).
