Can't if be overbored to a) increase size to 1700ish cc and b) make them round again.

Thanks to all the replys, DavidM was kind enough to let me pick the engine up at the weekend and give me my first go in a kit
So hopefully I won't need another block
Thanks again
Graham

Ps forgot to ask you David what mpg can you get out the xflow

Hi Graham,
I hope you can make use of the engine and I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride out in my car. You should come again if you need some motivation to finish yours. I've found my glasses now so I'll be able to see where I'm going.

The crossflow is not very economical by today's standards. With the twin 40s I get about 25mpg on a run if I take it easy. It probably drops to 20mpg or less if I rag it. It's a good job petrol isn't expensive to buy. It uses more oil than petrol.
