I have an Omex 600 and now need to buy a loom. Do I buy a fully assembled loom or a semi assembled loom. I've been told that Omex offer no
technical backup with self assembled wiring harnesses only fully assembled harness.
How easy are the semi assembled looms to fit?
Neil
I am just going through the same decision.
I have heard that the full looms are very good quality and saves a lot of hassle.
I bought mine with the self assembly loom, dead easy to set up. You can download the pinout diagram along with the associated setup instructions and software from the Omex website.
Ive made two for other people and hate pre made as they never fit how I want them. You allways have extra wire to hide ect.
Its not hard.
What Big wasa said^^ I to would self build to look neater. A generic loom will be fine AND of good quality BUT may be too long OR to short in places.
it also would dictate therefore where your ecu would need to be placed instead of where YOU want to put it.
Methodical and carefull is the way to go.
If you have confidence in your ability and the correct crimping tools you'll be fine.
we just bought the semi assembled loom £60 .its for a kit car.
.you can buy the ecu plug and crimp pliers seperately for £40. but its worth the extra £20 just to get the semi assembled loom with ecu plug already
wired with the correct colours and 3metres of cable.imho.
we always use the omex looms because the quality is excellent. they are supplied LONG. as andy at omex says, its easier to make them shorter than
longer. just a case of cutting and rejoining.
