I am presently trying to start my car for the first time with megasquirt, On the first attempt it was only firing on 1 cylinder, I found the other 3 injectors were sticking and not supplying any fuel.After flicking them directly across the battery i now have three working but the other one doesnt click at all.
The injectors I am using are the bosch type with a hose connection as they were fitted to the kawasaki throttle bodys ,i dont want to have to change the full set as i would need to find 4 of the same type and they seem to be rare nowadays and the more common type would require a new fuel rail making.Is there anything I can try to free it off? is it possible to dismantle them at all?
I would like to sort it as quickly as posible as i am now really keen to get the car back on the road and tune the injection.

My GSXr ones were all sticking. This is how I got them to click, I havn't tested they yet, so I have no idea if I have done any damage to them.

I removed all the rubber seals from the top and bottom, and even the little internal filter (though that's not that important and a bitch of a job, Id only do that if tapping doesn't work first time) then filled them full of WD40.

Then the fun bit, turn upside down so they would fire upwards and tap firmly on a clean bench, try over a battery, if that doesn't work try tapping harder etc.

Now I'm sure that unltrasonic cleaning and or injector cleaner may be better bet, but I don't have either of those, so I hit them till they worked.

I found out they were sealed and not repairable accoring to the local Bosch injection specialist.
Decided I would risk poking the needle back with a blunt scriber, as tapping didnt work, pushed it back against the spring and then flicked on battery a few times and now works, turned on fuel pump and have a good squirt from each injector.
Fitted to car and now running but a bit roughly, suspect over fuelin at present.

I dont know about the bike ones but the ones on my ford engine where all stuck solid after sitting for a few years.
Glass jar full of fuel injector cleaner- the type you add to a tank of gass- I let them sit overnight it the full strenght cleaner and then they all fired up rather quickly.

Just add something to this, one of my injectors is weeping a bit after tapping, another is peeing fuel when pressurised. One of the three streams seems to be perminently open.

It's soaking in injection cleaner and thinners as I type, I'm hoping this will sort it, if not I'm not too sure.

Happy I built the test rig now.

Mine seem ok now, but am thinking about changing them for the newer type and making a new fuel rail to suit, i cant find any of the old type in the scrapyard and really want to be able to replace them easily if I have a problem with them later.
