Hi guys, wiring is not my best OMG, i have finished making my new dash ( very happy with it ) and now on wiring it back up, i did use my brain cell and marked up all the wires from the 6 gauge escort dash i had fitted so i knew where they would go to on the Capri 6 gauge dash, BUT when i went to rewire most of the markings have gone, note to self, dont use Biro pen on duct tape

I have near all done, a fww things i need to sort but here i need to find out about the Tacho wirings, i have the connector for the Capri gauges and have details of the wires, but from what i have found for the Capri Tacho is a green wire from the loom connector to go to the Neg on the coil.

I have done this but nothing is happening.

Can anyone help with this please.

cheers

wolly

Can you post a pic of the back of the tach..

From memory, the green is the fused switched live, there should also be a black earth, and then either a white or white with black tracer from the coil neg to the tach, or it could be a white wire loop on the back of the original escort tach.

Its a while since I had an old Ford's entrails out, but a pic would help.

Oh i forgot to say its got Lumenition electronic ignition if that make a difference to the way it needs to be wired up.

There is 3 connection points on the back of the rev counter aswell, but one green wire ( said to be the rev counter wire) from the connector to the loom from the gauges.
