Hard to forget Four Candles/Fork Handles!

Last time I saw him on TV he didn't look well...

mookaloid - 4/10/05 at 10:37 AM

Very sad day indeed

Been watching Ronnie on the telly as long as I can remember

Definitely an all time great.

R.I.P Ronnie Barker.

hero of comedy and all round top fella.

ayoungman - 4/10/05 at 11:35 AM

I don't think he was ever in a show that wasn't top class. His ability as a wordsmith is without comparison.

R.I.P Ronnie

World is a less funny place all of a sudden

Will be greatly missed by a lot of people.

Sad day.

Here is the most memorable "and now here is the news" from the two ronnies

A vicar was in court today for riding his bicycle down the wrong way of the M1 motorway.

When the judge asked him "why wasn't you killed?"

He replied "god was with me"

And was further charged for riding two on a bike.

I can hear him saying it in my head now.... he will be sadly missed.

bob - 4/10/05 at 04:33 PM

As well as the "fork handles" sketch i remember the two ronnies and john cleese doing a sketch called upper class, middle class, lower class.

very funny.

Still we can enjoy some fantastic re runs.

Phantom raspberry blower of old London Town....does it for me.
That and Fletcher in porridge

marcyboy - 4/10/05 at 05:21 PM

my fave was norm stanly fletcher... and some of the funniest gags including

The Two Ronnies:

The search for the man who terrorises nudist camps with a bacon slicer goes on. Inspector Lemuel Jones had a tip-off this morning, but hopes to be back on duty tomorrow

Marlon - 4/10/05 at 06:38 PM

He'll be missed by everyone.
R.I.P Ronnie.

Ned.

ayoungman - 5/10/05 at 09:33 AM

To quote from another great, Dr Fred Dibnah " he's had half a day out with the undertaker booked for some time".

The BEEB like to be prepared for these things !

A sad reminder of our own mortality.

Like some others (Morcombe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, Eric Sykes, etc) it seems like they have always been on TV and have entertained and educated me whilst growing up.

Was a truely great talent and will be greatly missed.

Rory Bremner has ANOTHER new series
He's as funny as arse cancer

Alan B - 5/10/05 at 07:36 PM

I remember the "news" item that went...

An Elephant has done a ton on the M1....police say drive carefully and treat it as a roundabout...

Classic stuff...sad loss..
