timing belts

Hi im on the lookout for timing pulleys/belt for my twincam conversion. Due to the small crank pulley, ive found

this 5M Pilot bore metric timing pulley. 5mm Pitch. To suit a 15mm wide belt.

is that going to be good enough for a high reving twincam engine? i cant find a 8mm small enough. Other option is an L shaped belt but as L stands for Light and the 5M is a HTD belt i assume its better for the job, but is it good enough???

cheers

What's wrong with buying original spare parts?

I wouldn't trust off-the-shelf parts for a vital job like cambelt timing. You can bet that Vehicle manufacturers don't use off-the-shelf parts

The clue is in the word "conversion". If you are converting an engine to use a twin cam head from something else, you don't tend to get OEM parts designed for the purpose...

15mm seems rather narrow to me - is this pulley for the cams or the crank?

Ok - now I understand.

In which case I would look for a suitable set of pulleys and belt from an OEM installation.

ive searched high and low for pulleys off a different engine but what i need appears to be too small.

i could go 25mm and get a re-enforced belt

edit..... that small pulley is for the crank, will use 2 larger ones for each cam
