The Knobs - 29/1/22 at 07:40 PM

What oils are people using these days? I have a 2004 R1 5PW and need to do a change it so any up to date ouls or the same old stuff?

tbh any oil of the correct grade and BS for the engine is fine. Of much more importance is to change it and the filter regularly.

I've worked along these lines myself, use the oil grade recommended by the engine manufacturer and stick to regular oil and filter changes.

Fuel (and car) related and diesel in particular I've always made a point of annual diesel fuel filter changes too. They collect plenty of crud and replacing the filter with OEM filters is generally quick and inexpensive.
