stm/aries supplied quick release column/paddle shift, will it pass sva...?!

I've got the stm supplied steering column (quick release steering wheel type) and paddleshift in my stm locost, been told today that it won't pass sva due to it not having a collapsable section.
Anyone passed sva with this combination?

Thanks.

it can do... if you look in the SVA manual, it doesn't HAVE to have a collapsable collumn. if you've got 2 UJs in there at a decent angle, then its fine.

what have you actually got? (pics might be handy)

The angle changes on the UJ's does not look enough. If you take a front inpact, the steering colomn will be pushed towards you.
You could entend the longer top rod of the coloumn so that the angle from this UJ is steeper at the rack. You will need to rotate the rack a bit more.

what the bit in the middle of the shaft here? is it just a sort of reducer for the diameter? you could look to change this part of the shaft, and make it extendable/collapsable? don't know where you could get the parts for it, but i'm sure someone on here will know
