R1 5VY urgent HELP

i've got my sva on thursday, just been down the local garage to have emmisions tested, idle's miles in, but when i try to build the revs to 2500, it gets to about 1800, and without moving the throttle pedal at all it jumps to over 6k, in a very uncontrolled manor, and won't drop down even with no throttle at all. any idea's appreciated, idle's at about 900 at the mo

What are the actual butterflies doing? If they are closed then there has to be some air getting into the engine somehow, or it couldn't possibly rev that high. That's what I would be looking at first, the butterflies

Mine was similar. Got to2250 then jumped. Very hard to control.

For retest I wired the fan to run constant (it cutting in and out wasn't helping), put new plugs in as they were a bit sooted from workshop running. That helped. Then played with it on the emision tester. Found it to be too weak at fast idle and things got easier (note, not easy) to control once I got the mixture somewhere close.

Mine would go from 2250 to about 4500/5000 then not drop unless I lifted off and started again.

Problem with the electronics then. What sort of ECU are you using? Could it be changed? Could you convert the throttles to cable control?

Are you using a power commander? If so U2U me your email address I will send you the power commander map I created during the SVA test. I have the same engine as you so you can try that and see if it helps, mine never did any of what you are describing. If anything it would stop if the throttle was opened too quickly. The map got me through my test so you could try it at your local garage and see if it is ok.
