Formula Student
Hiya guys,
Hope this is the right place to post! Been lurking in the background for a while, but this is my first post, so be easy on me!!
Basically, I'm a third year engineering student studying automotive engineering at Warwick uni.
My third project is entitled " Design of a Back to Basics Formula Student Car" and I'm a bit stuck to be honest.
Ive read a few books, namely these:
http://www.amazon.com/Tune-Win-Carroll-Smith/dp/0879380713/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233402863&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.com/Engineer-Motorbooks-Workshop-Carroll-Smith/dp/0879381868/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233402863&sr=1-2
http://www.amazon.com/Build-Motorcycle-engined-Racing-Cars-Speedpro/dp/1845841239
http://www.amazon.com/Race-Rally-Car-Sourcebook-Competition/dp/1859608469/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233403079&sr=1-1
What im wondering is if anyone knows of anything which could help with my project.
Although its called "design of..." the way I'm going about it is to research all the different components that will be used, and all
their variants (not sure thats really clear but as an example i'll have a section called engines and discuss the pros and cons of single
cylinders, v-twins, inline 4s and for brakes discuss the advantages and drawbacks of inboard or outboard, oem or custom etc) so if anyone knows of any
books or even websites and topics on here which may be of use, then I'd really appreciate it.
Ive searched for all the FS related topics and had a read, but obviously theres a vast amount of topics on here, and someone might just know of
exactly what I'm after!
Thanks alot folks!

Welcome aboard.
Guarantee that all those topics have been discussed on here, many will have links to external information. Just a case of using the search , which can
be a bit tedious, but persistence will pay off.
There's at lease one other poster on here who has done the similar course to you at WU too who I'm sure will assist if they can
Good luck
