Barnett Clutch Conversion R1
Hello All
I've finally bought the Barnett Clutch conversion kit.
It has come with 2 sets of springs.
1 shorter set
1 longer.
The instructions say fit one short and one long alternately for use in a bike. Fit all long springs for use in BEC.
I rang Fluke who supplied it and they suggested using all short ones, saying I shouldn't fit all long ones - yet the instructions say you should
for BEC.
So now I'm confused - who has fitted what ? And what were the results ?
Thanks in anticipation.

the long springs press the plates together hader reducing clutch slip. It makes the clutch heavier on the bikers fingers. You're using your
foot so shouldn't be a problem.
I found I got clutch slip even with the big springs so I fittes a 12mm washer between the top hat and spring to pinch them up a bit more. Its been
like that for over 3 years without any problems.

Thanks chaps
Long ones it is.
Fluke said it would become 'spring bound' whatever that means.
I'll go with your recommendations.
Cheers

I think Fluke are a bit out of date. The early Barnett conversion kits did come with springs that were too long and became spring bound before clutch
was fully released.
This has since been fixed and the long springs are the ones to go for. Certainly the second kit I used had different long springs and these worked
fine.
