What oil do you use? The additives can make this happen semi or fully.

Your springs could be weak too not fully disengaging. Its pretty easy to check plates. If it smells rank (eggy) when you open her up then oils been cooked!

I think from memory its fully synthetic, but it's only what is recommended by Kawasaki, i will have a sniff tonight as well.
Cheers Dean and Paul who sold me the engine, DIE DIE, only kidding ,it's the best thing i hav ever done fitting that engine.
Brad.

cheers for the replies all. definitely made an interesting read and has made me a bit more knowledgeable about the reasons for the upgrade.

so, can anyone tell me where to get one from? and should i be upgrading clutch plates or just get standard R1 ones?

We gain knowledge faster than we do wisdom!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"
