Silicone hoses for an R1

Hi guys,

Just trying to find out about silicone hoses for my 06 R1. I've seen R1 kits on ebay for £120 but i'd like to know if its worth buying this and then buying extra for the run to the rad for example or is it better to just work out what i need then buy each piece seperate? If that makes sense? Also any help on where i can buy it from would be good!

Cheers
Dave

No point in buying the R1 kit, as your pipework will be laid out differently since it mounted into a car. just measure up what you need, and buy the bits separate... shouldnt come to anywhere near £120

Do you definately want to go silicon? People often do by default but it's usually unecessary. I worry that a bonnet load of blue samco will rapidly look chav-tastic (even if I've just installed a whole load in my car!!)....

as above, don't bother buying the R1 kit cos you'ld end up chucking away 50% of it.

Get the bits individually. Just be aware that it might be best to get all the bits (including hose joiners) from the same place (like Venair). I've recently found out (from auto-performance online) that different manafacturers use different I.D.s IE Samco 28mm hoses are larger than SS 28mm hoses......
