zx12 cutting out
We had a morning on a dyno and had the engine cut (5-7000rpm) with the oil warning light coming on, it didnt always do it and there seemed to be about
50 % looking at the oil sight.
The engine is zx12 b1 with a billet swing sump..
Any ideas would be appreciated

Pickup sucking madly, pulls it to the bottom of the sump effectively blocking the pipe, revs die off, suction reduces and pick lifts.
Sounds like wiring the oil light to the ignition has saved you a big bill, however lights come on at 12psi, engine could have been of oil but
beforecutting out..... Sump off and have a measure for clearance and make sure the pickup is rigid vertically

Swing arm is held top and bottom and shouldnt beable to move to block.. was told the sump used normal amount of oil..
was thinking that since the car was stationary that the usual movement of the oil (then swing pickup) wouldnt happen.

using advice from hellfire my oil level is between half and three quaters (on the site gauge) when the engine is running.
i used to run the same level on the gauge but with the engine off
and had the oil light coming on when the revs were between 9k and 12k.
hope that makes sense
all the best
