'07 R1 Throttle Body position

The airbox on the R1 is too big to fit under the bonnet at the moment, because its angled to go over the exhaust headers, it would stick right out, so I can't even get away with a bump or scoop.

However, if I was to rotate the whole throttle body assembly (It doesnt readily detatch from the bodies) around 180 degrees, it would almost just fit right in without any modification.

Is there any practical reason why this wouldnt work?

Some things I thought about where:

Injector firing order, but I could get around this by keeping the loom as designed. (Haven't actually checked if they are on different banks.)

The other thing is that the injector will fire into the top of the flow rather than the bottom, this means the mixture will have a different 'shape' as it enters the cylinder. Is this likely to be an issue?

Has anybody else done this sort of thing to good/bad effects?

The other solution is to cut off the air box and reshape it, but I would like to avoid that if possible.

Cheers

David

I've seen other R1's that have reversed the airbox I didn't realise that you also rotated the TB's

I looked at doing the same thing. I decided against it but can't remember why. Was either to do with sequential injector firing or the inlet being set-up for the angle the injectors were at.

Sorry, I know thats not very helpfull!
