Engine prices throughout the year

Is there a price change during different times of year? I'm runnin a crossflow for this hillclimb season and want to do an R1 conversion over winter, so is there a best time to get a good deal on an R1 package?

Cheers

Not really, seem to be pretty much static. The odd bargain comes up at any time of the year but overall Id say that they hover around the £900-1200 mark consistently, depending on spec/age

Cheers Chris, thats what I thought actually, although there are a few around for 750 to 800 quid.

I've heard that it's the 2000/2001 engine that is best to get due to clutch problems in earlier models? Or can these problems be fixed by fitting an uprated clutch?

I think you can fit uprated clutches to the earlier ones but Im not really an R1 expert, probably best to ask Jim Giblett on here or maybe Richard Miles through his R1 Striker website
