R1 clocks query

I've got some Yamaha R1 clocks for my BEC build and was wondering if anyone knows the bolt size and thread required for the 3 mounting holes on the back. I started to mock up my dash to mount the clocks this evening, and after going through a large selection of bolt sizes I can't find the correct one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What year/ engine code R1 is it?

i wouldnt like to say, but a good way of mounting the clocks is open them up and sandwidge the dash between the two halves. youll nneed to get some non conducting foam behind the internals to stop them vibrating around.
if youre dead set on mounting them the other way, ill check the thread tomorrow. on my '00 clocks

R1 clocks are usually fixed on the bike with 3 course thread self tappers into the 3 mounting posts.

They are supposed to be off a 2003 R1 according to the bloke on 'the bay' who I bought them from. Yes, there are 3 mounting holes in a triangle arrangement and the thread does look coarse. I could give the self tapper option a go. Cheers

I ran either an M4 or M5 tap down the posts on my clocks and then loctited some threaded rod into them. I could then use a normal nut to hold the clocks in place. It's also easier to get a nut on rather than trying to screw the self tapper in from behind the dash.

That sounds like a neat way of mounting the clocks, A1, are you just sandwiching over a thin aluminium dash? Any problems with water leaking into the casing?
