ZX-10R Dyno Results ?
Hi All
Has anyone, apart from Big Rich had their ZX-10R BEC on the dyno?
What were the results and what was your intake and exhaust set-up?
Thanks

Thanks Paul - yes I remember the thread now. Its one of your old engines I have - I think it's the second one that you bought after the FI went
bang. I hope it does a bit better than that at the wheels otherwise I'm going to struggle a bit. Having said that, there's a
Powercommander to do its thing yet.

I think the exhaust on mine was the main restriction,I think I was down around 10bhp with it,a power commander may have given me 2 or 3 bhp more,it
was doing about 166bhp at the flywheel, with good torque, so not far off what it should be putting out,so I would not read too much into the bhp at the
wheels figure, don't forget the 180bhp quoted for these engines is with full ram air.
The car on track was as quick, if not slightly quicker than a zx12r with over150bhp at the wheels.

Plenty more to come there then Paul, is the motor std? My race bike was superstock tune and made 174bhp @rear wheel, std bike is about 158bhp @wheel,
so you should have scope for a fair bit more.

I had 135 at the wheels, standard airbox and standard R1 can with power commander. Might have got a bit more with a different can, though the guy did
say the r1 can wasn't to restrictive. Had it on the dyno on probably the hottest day of the year which wasn't good

Hi tim
With a better air filter and good manifold you will see better power figures,
again this will depend on the system if 4-1 or 4-2-1,
they make different power and torque figures,
but torgues for go power for show
I would expect to see with power commander good filter and nice maifold around 135-140 @ the wheels ,
remember depends on the dyno aswell as some give differnet figures than others,
good luck with the build,
as paul says though i would say it was as quick as a zx12 and we have had both,
Sean
or stick a big turbo on it as we did
