Busa in-tank fuel pump connections

As I dont have an engine yet and searching was fruitless, can anyone tell me what connections I need for the busa in tank fuel pump?

If it makes any difference, I have the MK fuel tank and I plan on running 8mm copper between the pump and front of the car (tell me if im wrong before I P-Clip away)

Hayabusa in tank fuel pump

I have used this pump in my Westfield Megabusa. If you use a GSX R1000K5/6/7/8 pump it will also have a fuel sender attached which is easily adjustable to fit into a 7 type tank.
The pump will only require one connection as it regulates pressure inside the tank. this makes it a very neat installation as there is only one pipe running to the front of the car. You will need to get the small length of fuel pipe that connects to the pump as it has a special quick release connector. Hope this helps. if you need any more info, U2U me.

The in tank busa fuel pump also has a fuel sender built in

Sorry I didn't explain properly. I found it easier to fit a GSX R1000 fuel pump as the sender fitted better with less modification. Also, it opens up the search for a second hand pump if you know that this type of pump will work as well.

I don't really understand the question.

The fuel interface uses the standard suzuki fuel clips. This is the same as the GSXR600 and 1000 the pump has a metal outlet with and the Suzuki clips seal to that, they also seal on the other end to the fuel rail (although the standard hose won't be long enough in a car).

You can take the little hose apart and fit a EFI compatible rubber hose over the ends of the barbed section and clip it and that works nicely. That allows you to disconnect the hose as suzuki intended, which can be useful. If you are fitting 8mm hose then you might want to put a lip on it now or solder on an olive, this helps retain the rubber hose when you fit it and will be easier to do on the bench.


Regarding other interfaces, it needs power, and an earth. I think it also will include a temperature sensor for fuel temp, which you could also connect up if you ECU can handle that sort of thing. There is also a level sensor on this one, although the GSXR600 one that I have doesn't have one of these.

Mounting any of these pumps in a fuel tank is non-trivial, as they bolt up from the underside. There is some debate about swirl pots too, one solution being a sump on the tank in which the pump can go. Note that if the 5 holes on the underside are the same as my pump, that they are NOT evenly spaced, i.e. not at 72deg to one another. Potentially a nasty surprise that!

you all summed it up pretty well.

1 fuel pipe and 4 wires

does anyone know the size of the fuel line that comes out from the fuel pump, I plan to use 8mm copper (as thats what MK were using), just want to make sure its ok for a busa

with regards to fitting, im expecting it to be pretty easy, the tank was built for a busa pump so hopefully all should go well.
